Motorized Honeycomb Shades for Large Windows in Mercer Island
A primary bedroom in a new Mercer Island home has large windows overlooking Lake Washington and neighboring property nearby. The homeowners wanted privacy and light control without losing the expansive view.
We installed Hunter Douglas Duette® Architella® honeycomb shades with PowerView® Automation and top-down/bottom-up operation. The configuration allows the lower portion to remain covered for privacy while daylight and views are retained above, and the honeycomb construction adds insulation.
The new shades give the homeowners flexible control over privacy, natural light, and the lake view while motorization simplifies operation across the large windows.
