Honeycomb Shades for Townhome Living & Dining in Maple Leaf, Seattle
Floor-to-ceiling street-facing windows in a new Maple Leaf townhome offered abundant daylight but left the homeowners exposed to nearby pedestrians and neighbors. They wanted privacy without blocking the sky view.
We installed top-down/bottom-up honeycomb shades across the window wall in the living, dining, and bedrooms. Lowering the shades from the top keeps the lower window covered for privacy while allowing daylight through the top, and the honeycomb construction adds insulation.
The completed installation improves street-level privacy and light control while keeping the tall windows bright and visually open throughout much of the day.
